Social Work

Social workers strive to make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities. These dedicated professionals care about people and communities in need and help them to achieve their goals. Social workers also value social justice and advocate for policies that promote equity and improve the lives of marginalized communities. Partnering with individuals, families and communities to find solutions to challenges, and working to improve living and working conditions in communities, are the hallmarks of the social work profession. The bachelor degree program and masters degree program at Washburn are nationally accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, and graduates consistently have success in acquiring rewarding jobs in local, regional, and national social service agencies.
