Theatre: Edinburgh Fringe Festival

Washburn students will devise a play and perform it at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2020. This festival is the largest and most prestigious performing arts festival in the world. In addition to performing, students will also attend other plays from around the world, network with other theatre folk, and attend the world-renowned Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

The trip includes a tour of Edinburgh, a full-day guided excursion in Scotland and an evening of Ceilidh (Scottish Dance). The benefits to our students are multiple! They get to create a play that reflects their concerns and perform it internationally. Last year there were 3,548 shows produced at the Fringe so our students will be exposed to diverse types of performance and numerous subjects. Our students will have the opportunity to network with theatre makers from 51 countries and learn about different theatre traditions.

This is a trip of a lifetime, and we hope you will support this opportunity for Washburn students!
