In May 2026, 25 students from a variety of academic programs will travel to London, England, and Edinburgh, Scotland, to explore the connections between sports, politics, and culture.
During the semester leading up to the trip, students will study topics such as the impact of hosting the Olympic Games on a city, the role of community sports in health and public policy, the history and rules of cricket, the traditions of the Highland Games, and the influence of politics on sports, including public funding for professional teams. They will also compare and contrast the ways sports shape society in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Trip highlights include visits to Lord’s Cricket Ground, Wimbledon, the 2012 London Olympic facilities, local Highland Games, Edinburgh Castle, and the Scottish Parliament.
One of the greatest barriers for our students to study abroad is the cost of travel. We are raising funds to ensure these students can take part in this life-changing opportunity. Your support will help provide them with a once-in-a-lifetime experience abroad.
