Please help support this 10-day study abroad experience for up to 20 students to the UK! Here's why you should help:
This is the English department's first travel abroad course. This will be the first overseas experience for most of the students participating. The experience is open to any students interested (not just English majors) and the course counts for general education credit. We have worked hard to keep costs down, but many of our students need financial support to participate. The travel is a 10-day culmination of EN 207, a spring semester course focused on travel writing. The travel itinerary includes:
London, England: Take a tour and see a play at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre
Visit the the British Library and see the “Treasures” exhibit of manuscripts
Visit the British Museum (see the Rosetta Stone, Egyptian mummies, and other artifacts)
Bath, England: Attend a literary festival, Visit the Jane Austen Center, Visit Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein, Visit the Roman baths, Hay-on-Wye,
Wales (known as “the town of books”)
Attend a literary festival, Visit bookstores, Visit castles

Donations to this project will support the English Department Travel Fund.
