The performing arts are essential to the fabric of our culture. Music, theatre, dance, and performance connect us to the past, impart meaning to the present, and equip us for a vital future. Students who select the performing arts as an integral component of their college experience extend their reach beyond their own lives, sharing the arts with their communities. The Washburn Music and Theatre department is dedicated to nurturing the arts in the lives of students who will continue to weave their artistic influence through the rich history and future of the Washburn community and beyond.

Music and theatre students invest significant time in rehearsals, practice, classes, and preparation for performances. While many students here on campus are afforded the opportunity to work outside of their academic commitments, the demanding schedules of music and theatre students pose challenges in finding adequate practice time, studying, and managing the pressures of off-campus work. Scholarship funds alleviate financial constraints that can hinder students from pursuing careers in the arts. We encourage your support in assisting students in their artistic endeavors through donations to scholarship funding.

Donations to this project may support the Music Department Fund, Theatre Department Fund or Department Scholarships.
