Washburn’s TRIO Upward Bound Program is giving first-generation, low-income students from Topeka High School the skills to succeed and the courage to dream. This program of intensive and personalized services is helping more first-generation, low-income students enroll in college and earn degrees.
Upward Bound is Washburn’s first TRIO grant, and it has already helped over 70% of participating high school seniors enroll in postsecondary education.
Nationwide, only 20% of first-generation students graduate with a bachelor’s degree, but Upward Bound’s wraparound support is changing this story. Your gift will allow Washburn Upward Bound Staff to address the individual barriers and needs of Upward Bound participants, helping them persist through difficulty and keep chasing their college dreams.
Donations to this project will support the Upward Bound Program Fund.
