The Hispanic American Leadership Organization (HALO) is committed in providing opportunities for Washburn students to improve the community, culture and enhance the educational opportunities for future students. To achieve this, we are raising funds to support conferences, guest speakers, and events that directly benefit our members and the broader Washburn community.
Attending regional and national conferences allows our student leaders to connect with peers, professionals, and mentors who share similar experiences. These events are critical in helping students expand their networks, learn best practices in leadership, and bring back valuable resources to campus.
Guest speakers provide another important avenue for growth by exposing students to inspiring leaders, professionals, and advocates from diverse fields. These presentations not only highlight success stories within the Latino community but also serve as motivating reminders of what is possible through perseverance and education.
In addition, hosting cultural and educational events strengthens our organization’s ability to engage the entire student body, faculty, and local community. Programs focused on leadership development, mentorship, and cultural awareness ensure that our members are prepared to become successful graduates and active contributors to society.
By investing in The Hispanic American Leadership Organization, donors and supporters are helping cultivate the next generation of Latino leaders. The funds raised will directly enhance students’ educational experiences, foster mentorship connections, and provide platforms for voices within the Latino community to be heard and celebrated.
