Your gift to the physics and astronomy department program fund will help fill immediate needs like programming and equipment.
The department prepares students to work in physics, engineering and related fields. Students who graduate with a bachelor's degree in physics or computational physics are well situated to join the workforce as physicists or engineers, or to continue their education in graduate school. Some of our graduates have even ended up studying law. Students who graduate with an associate of science in engineering physics are ready to transfer to any school that offers a four-year engineering degree.
Most of our students work in addition to going to school. We want to raise $2,000 on the Day of Giving to enhance our physics scholarship fund. If successful, we will be able to provide financial support to more of our students. Every scholarship dollar represents time physics students can spend on their education instead of worrying about paying tuition. We want Washburn students to have every opportunity to be successful. Reducing financial barriers is a crucial step to success. Your help is greatly appreciated.
