Ichabods Moving forward(IMF) is a student-led philanthropic organization sponsored by both Washburn University Alumni Association and Foundation and the Office of Student Life. IMF manages the student emergency fund available to help students who experience unexpected and unforeseen circumstances which jeopardize their ability to continue their education. Assistance may be granted to students who have demonstrated a need for temporary financial assistance to remain a student at Washburn University. Emergency funds are limited, and availability varies based on fund balance. Assistance may only be granted once during a student’s time at Washburn University.
This project will provide immediate and tangible support to Washburn students facing unexpected financial emergencies. By helping students cover essential expenses during times of need the fund reduces the risk of students leaving school or experiencing setbacks that could disrupt their academic progress. For the Washburn community, this project strengthens student success, retention, and graduation rates while also fostering a culture of care and resilience on campus. It sends a powerful message that students are not alone Non-Nobis Solum, when facing hardship.
