Below you will find answers to many common questions about #AllforWU 2024.
Can I make a gift before Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, and have it count?
Of course! Please visit our donation page, select "Day of Giving" as your reason for giving, and select where you would like your gift to be designated. If it's not in the dropdown menu, select "Other" and type in the project or area you are interested in. Your gift will be tallied with the gifts on the day and counted in our overall total!
Why is this day held on Feb. 1?
We believe there is no better day than a birthday to let someone or something know how much you mean to them and thank them for all they have done for you. Washburn University was founded on Feb. 6, 1865, so we are celebrating this week and saying "Happy Birthday, Washburn!"

Can I make a pledge?
If you're interested in making a pledge on the Day of Giving, please call us at 785.670.4483.
Are matching gifts accepted?
Yes! Matching gifts from the company or organization you work for double the impact of your gift. See if your employer might match your gift.
What does it mean when I select my amount is anonymous or I don't want my name associated with my gift?
Washburn's Day of Giving website has a donor wall to acknowledge the generosity of donors today. Donors can choose to hide the amount that they give, their name, or both.
Because we annually list the collective amount people give throughout the year in our annual donor honor roll without the specific amounts or area of support, if you would like your Day of Giving gift to remain anonymous in our annual honor roll, please email contactus@wualumni.org and let us know. Thank you for your generosity!
How can I make a donation to a personal/named fund?
Select a Department or Program, then select "Other" as the Fund Designation and type in the name of the fund you would like to direct your gift.
Do I have to make my gift online to make it count?
If you prefer to not make a gift online, please give us a call at 785.670.4483, and we would be happy to assist you and make sure your gift is designated as you would intend it.
Is my contribution tax deductible?
The Washburn University Alumni Association and Foundation is a 501c3 organization. However, everyone's financial circumstances are different, so we ask that you consult with a financial adviser on your tax deduction.
