Washburn wants to encourage study abroad by simply putting a passport in the hands of the student who may not otherwise consider it. We believe studying abroad is one of the high impact learning activities during the student's college career. It can be transformational for both personal growth and societal good. This fund will go to pay for passports for students who are planning to study abroad.
"Having a passport is like holding the key to a world of possibilities and exploration. It symbolizes the freedom to embark on international journeys and opens doors to a deeper understanding of diverse cultures. I am using my passport to study abroad in Austria, an experience that enriches my education and broadens my perspective on life. It's not just a travel document; it's a gateway to learning, growth, and a global perspective." - Lincoln Gibson, Semester Abroad, Vorarlberg University, Dorbirn, Austria.
