The Exercise Science Laboratory Fund is used to purchase equipment used by our students in the classroom and in collaborations with faculty as part of a teaching and research laboratory examining human performance and athletic development.

On the Day of Giving, we are raising funds for a resisted VertiMax V8 and weightlifting Tendo Unit. The Tendo Unit allows for the examination of velocity and power production during human movements.
The Tendo Unit will be used with the VertiMax V8 to continue research and development of an athletic anaerobic performance assessment, examining the biomechanical alterations and decrease in athletic performance with the onset of fatigue. Kinesiology students will be using the equipment in the classroom and conducting research with the guidance and collaboration of Eric Mosier, assistant professor, kinesiology.
If we raise sufficient funds, we will also purchase the BIOPAC data acquisition system which will be intergraded with our AMTI AccuPower force plate, allowing us to further examine forces, velocities and powers during human movements and athletic performances.
