Fraternity & Sorority Life: Community Programming

Washburn University is home to five fraternities and six sororities. Fraternity and Sorority Life serves more than 250 undergraduate students and strives to promote a sense of belonging and a strong community for its members. Fraternity and sorority life at Washburn is built on the principles of scholarship, leadership, service, community and campus pride. Our mission is to enhance the college experience by helping in developing life-long membership and friendships and promoting personal growth by helping in strengthening the character of all members. Joining a fraternity or sorority is an excellent way to meet people, become engaged in campus life, learn new leadership skills, focus on academic success and give back to the community.

On the Day of Giving, we hope you will help us raise funds to continue to provide active programming efforts for our members of fraternities and sororities on campus. These include but are not limited to fraternity and sorority social and educational events throughout the academic year: FSL Back-to-School Socials, New Member Symposium, Fraternity and Sorority Life Week, Member Engagement/Recruitment workshops and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programming.

We hope you will consider supporting these efforts to ensure current members in fraternities and sororities will continue to grow within their chapters and as members of the Washburn University community. Thank you!
