The School of Business has embarked on the process of offering a bachelor of business administration concentration, minor and certificate in business data analytics, a new specialty that is changing the way businesses research and answer questions. Gifts to this fund will provide learning and teaching resources to assist faculty as they offer these courses.
Examples of needed technologies include:
- Database server to host a relational database for students learning to program in Structured Query Language for using contents of business enterprise databases including big data sources
- Text analysis tools for studying business textual unstructured data (English document content, emails, text messages, social media, etc.)
- Sensor devices and software to support Internet of Things exercises for students to learn about gathering and analyzing remote device and sensor data
