The history department is raising funds on Day of Giving to reward deserving students with scholarships and funds to travel and present at academic conferences. Your gift can help us meet these goals.
We are in particular need of scholarships for incoming students since most of our current scholarships target students with at least 12 hours of history credit. Scholarships specifically focused on new students serve the needs of those students and work as a recruiting tool, helping us bring the best possible history students to Washburn.
We also actively encourage students to present their research at academic conferences, and we strive to fund student travel and conference fees when they have work accepted to conferences. But rising costs mean we could use help achieving this goal.
