Your gift can help Washburn Tech meet its most urgent needs or reward deserving students by enhancing the Dean's Fund for Excellence. Gifts given to this program during the Day of Giving will support modernization efforts/technology advancements, expansion of programs, SkillsUSA sponsorship, scholarships and creating a student commons area.
Washburn Tech Modernization Efforts
Funding to modernize the learning and working environments of Washburn Institute of Technology Conference Center. The WIT Conference Center often hosts various community and educational events each year and was used during COVID-19 as a learning space for students and staff. The funding would be used to renovate furnishings, audio/visual, carpet, paint and general esthetics, which would align with our academic and community-centric goals of being a high-tech, state-of-the-art training and educational facility.
Expansion of Programs – Washburn Tech East
Funding to expand non-credit and credit certificate programs at the Washburn Tech East campus.
SkillsUSA Student Sponsorship
Funding for SkillsUSA competition, which traditionally includes more than 100 WIT students who compete in different trade, technical and leadership fields on the state and national levels.
Scholarships
By giving to this fund you are allowing more students to attend and receive support to assist with tuition, equipment, textbook and living expenses.
Creation of a Student Commons
The creation of a student commons will provide students with a nontraditional learning space that allows for new and diverse ways of accessing information, studying, reducing social and mental anxieties as well as engaging with others. The new student commons will be housed in the existing cafeteria space. Funding would convert this underutilized, outdated area into a place for student success and a flex space for the Washburn Tech Conference Center.
