Travel to conferences both in the U.S. and abroad provides students with unique opportunities to engage with students, faculty and community leaders across the world around issues that students care about. The Aleshire Center for Leadership and Community Engagement wishes to help foster these interactions to build critical skills related to networking, communication and information literacy while also broadening students' global perspectives and cultural understanding.
Conferences such as the International Leadership Association, Bonner Summer Leadership Institute, National Conference for College Women Student Leaders and Bonner Congress offer students the chance to practically apply their classroom learning alongside other students and scholars to maximize learning and consider how they can help tackle tough community problems.
Help us expand the opportunities available to students in our program by removing a significant financial barrier, opening up conference attendance and travel experiences to a broader range of students. These travel experiences are yet another amazing way Washburn students can customize their learning experiences while making memories that last a lifetime.
Donations to this project will support the Leadership Institute Travel Fund.
