FHS Master's Program Textbook Scholarship

Licensed addiction counselors are of great need in our community and often they themselves need financial support to purchase and retain study materials to continue growing in their field.

We aim to provide three new family and human services addiction counseling graduate students textbook scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year. It costs roughly $700 for first-year master’s students in our program to purchase textbooks tied to curriculum requirements for their ultimate addiction counseling licensure in Kansas.

Students are likely to rent these texts and return them at the end of their semester to save money. However, these texts are best kept to study for the licensure exam and inform clinical work post-graduation. Financial concerns can deter students from entering a graduate program. The addiction counseling field can’t afford to lose potential licensed professionals, especially those who can step into leadership roles like our master’s students. Help reduce one barrier to an advanced degree for three unique students.
