Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
Student-athletes improving our campus, community and ourselves

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is the central voice for Washburn’s student-athletes, which allows us to connect with our administration and assist in influencing NCAA legislation along with regional and national committees. SAAC provides a platform for student-athletes to make a meaningful impact - not just at Washburn, but within the Topeka community and beyond, as they go on to achieve great things. Your gift on Day of Giving will help us advance our mission, enhance our programs, and make a lasting difference. This year, donations to the SAAC fund will allow us to host various community events such as Bowling with Bods, canned food drives for local homeless shelters, Teddy Bear Toss for Toys for Tots, finals week goody bags for student-athletes, and more!

In the past, SAAC has taken on initiatives such as:

  • A diversity, equity and inclusion series with speakers
  • Providing mental health resources and bringing a mental health speaker on campus
  • A “Life After Athletics” series for our real-world preparation
  • Providing a better experience by hosting the Washburn’s Golden Bods Award Show - an annual ceremony recognizing our student-athletes achievements on and off the field
  • Raising money for the national Make-A-Wish Foundation through various fundraisers

Your gift on Day of Giving will help us advance our mission, enhance our programs, and make a lasting difference.

Donations to this project will support the Student Athlete Advisory Committee Fund.
