Social Work Study Abroad to Colombia

Many social work students show an interest in studying the impact of trauma and resiliency in the peace process. To better bring them this opportunity, the social work department has a study abroad program that goes to Colombia every 18 months. This year, we are scheduled to go May 19-29, 2020. Along with the service work, we will interact with local social work students.

The Need

Your Day of Giving gifts will allow a greater number of students to attend. The average cost for travel per student is $3,000 for 10 days of travel, lodging and other costs. For many social work students, they cannot attend because of finances. Your gift can give them a transformational experience and positively impact their education and life.

Social Work Study Abroad Match
The Board of Trustees will match dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000 for the Social Work Department's Study Abroad trip to Columbia.
